Richard Bland Hosts Guilford Tech (N.C.) & Lenoir (N.C.) This Weekend

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, Va. -- Richard Bland College will host a pair of Region 10 men's basketball games this weekend in Statesman Hall.  The Statesmen, 13-5 overall, 7-3 in Region 10, welcome Guilford Tech (N.C.) on Saturday, January 27, at 3 p.m., followed by Lenoir (N.C.) on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m.

The Guilford Tech contest on Saturday has been designated as the program's Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers / Pink Out contest to raise awareness about the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission, and to promote the American Cancer Society as a place for help and support.  The Statesmen coaching staff will wear sneakers with their game attire as a visible reminder about the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing cancer risk.

The Lenoir contest on Sunday has been designated as the program's Peter Paul Development Center Appreciation Game.  Last fall, Richard Bland participated with the Junior League of Richmond in their Good Sports program at the Peter Paul Development Center in Richmond that worked with third and fourth grade students, focusing on Character Counts traits.

Admission is free to all Richard Bland home games, and everyone is encouraged to wear pink attire on Saturday.  Both contests can be heard locally on WHAP Radio, Fox Sports 1340 AM.
