No. 18 Richard Bland Falls At No. 15 Louisburg (N.C.) 75-69

LOUISBURG, N.C. -- Sophomore Tim Bing Jr./Suitland, Maryland scored a team-high 20 points, but No. 18 Richard Bland College dropped a 75-69 Region 10 men's basketball decision at No. 15 Louisburg (N.C.) College on Wednesday night in Louisburg, North Carolina.  Classmates Ricky Hicks/Bronx, New York and Robert Smith/Hampton each added 14 points for the visiting and nationally-ranked Statesmen (16-6, 10-4) against the host and nationally-ranked Hurricanes (19-4, 12-2) in the NJCAA Division II Top 20 contest. 

Richard Bland led 28-24 at halftime before Louisburg outscored the Statesmen 51-41 in the second half of the Top 20 contest.  Bing added five steals and three assists to his 20 points, while Smith grabbed nine rebounds to go along with his 14 points.

Richard Bland and Louisburg were playing for the 12th time, and the Hurricanes continue to lead the closely-played rivalry series at 7-5. 

Richard Bland will return home to welcome Region 10 member Catawba Valley (N.C.) on Saturday, February 10, at 3 p.m. in Statesman Hall.  Saturday's contest has been designated as the program's Autism Awareness Game.
