Men’s Basketball Suffers Loss to Dragons

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Men's Basketball team moves to 1-5 overall after traveling to Catonsville, Maryland for day one of the Baltimore City Mixer. The Statesmen opened play against Howard Community College, falling 60-78.

 

Trailing by eight, 30-38, at the break, Richard Bland went on to score 30 points in the second half, but it would not be enough. Their efforts fell short dropping a 60-78 road loss to the Dragons. Two Statesmen tallied double-digit figures in the loss. Martin Kawa led the way with 20 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Larry Howell added 15 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one block. Off the bench, Imani Anderson chipped in with nine points, three steals, two rebounds, one assist, and one block. Tim Robinson led the boards with seven.

 

Richard Bland shot 58.6% from the charity stripe and 42.0% from the field.

 

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team will compete against the hosts, CCBC Catonsville tomorrow, November 18th at 3pm.
