Men’s Basketball Closes Semester on the Road Against Bobcats

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Men's Basketball team moves to 6-8 overall, 2-1 in conference after traveling to Bryant & Stratton College (VA) for a nonconference contest with the Bobcats.

 

Wednesday evening, the Statesmen dropped a tough battle to the Bobcats, 68-75. Richard Bland took an early 39-36 lead at the half, but would be outscored by 10 points in the second, falling just short in the nonconference contest. Martin Kawa led the way with 21 points, six assists, three rebounds, and one block. Ibrahim Kourouma added 18 points, six rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Larry Howell tallied his third double-double of the season with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists in the loss. Off the bench, Tim Robinson chipped in with six points and five boards, while Brandon Hendryx added seven boards.

 

Richard Bland shot 75.0% from the charity stripe, 50.0% from the field, and 38.5% from the perimeter.

 

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team has a short break and will return to action in the new year. Their first contest of the spring semester will take place on January 6th at 3pm against Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute. Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm.
