PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College soccer program and head coach Eduardo De Souza have announced the incoming class for the 2015 season. The Statesmen will welcome four new players to the team.

 

Sebastian Henri will join the cavalry green and white upon graduation from T.C. Williams High School, the Alexandria, Virginia native will be counted on to add some depth and presence up top in the forward position for the squad.

 

Another Alexandria, Virginia native, Kevin Ortez looks to take the field at the midfielder position next season. He currently attends T.C. Williams High School alongside Henri. "Kevin is a versatile midfielder with very good technique," added Coach De Souza.

 

Haris Bekric hails from Leesburg, Virginia and currently attends Loudon County High School. He is a member of the Braddock Road Soccer Club. "Haris is a strong center back, he will add a lot power to our defense," noted Coach De Souza.

 

Denzel Speed rounds out the list of early signees for the Statesmen soccer program. The Williamsburg, Virginia native attends Lafayette High School and hopes to add more skill and athleticism to the squad's defense at the fullback position. He competed for the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club and made it to the final four in the 2014 State Cup.

 

Richard Bland finished the 2014 season with a 5-13-1 overall record and 3-12-1 Region X play. They return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 21 for spring ball. The Statesmen will host ASA Milan Black Hawks at 12 noon.
