SOCCER SUFFERS TOUGH LOSS TO HARCUM COLLEGE

BRYN MAWR, PA (Sept. 27, 2015) — The long road trip to suburban Philadelphia did not prove fortuitous for the Richard Bland men's soccer team, which dropped a 6-0 decision to Harcum College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

Richard Bland, which saw its five-game unbeaten streak dating back to Sept. 2 come to a tough end, returns to Statesmen Field on Sept. 30 for the first of two games against Region X leading Louisburg College at 4 p.m. Harcum, which ended its three-game losing skid, remains at home for a 3:30 p.m. contest against Rowan College at Gloucester County on Monday, Sept. 28.

Harcum jumped off to a fast start, scoring within the first minutes of the game when freshman Uros Momic scored the first of his three goals to help the Bears take a 5-0 lead into halftime. Sophomore teammate Molly Kieh Karpeh, Jr. scored two goals for Harcum.

"We started off slowly and didn't play well in the first half," said head coach Eduardo de Souza. "We played better in the second half and it's a learning process for a lot of players who saw action today because we were shorthanded due to red cards from the Patrick Henry game and injuries. It's the type of game that shows the work ethic needed to play in each game. It will keep us humble, give us a chance to reflect and get ready for a big game against Louisburg on Wednesday."
