WINTER STORM 2016: MEN'S SOCCER HELPS KEEP RBC CAMPUS CLEAN

PETERSBURG, Va., (Jan. 23, 2016) -- Winter Storm Jonas has turned out as predicted, turning the Mid-Atlantic Region into a Winter Wonderland, complete with heavy snow, sleet, driving winds and treacherous roads and walkways.

In an effort to help keep the Richard Bland Campus as snow free and safe as possible, members of the men's soccer team assisted the Building & Grounds staff on campus with snow removal, particularly at Statesman Hall, where the athletics teams play and practice and the student body stays fit, along with the steps and walkways leading into the student cafe.

"Community service is essential on the Richard Bland campus and by volunteering with snow removal on campus our student-athletes learn leadership and pride to help with any cause," said head men's soccer coach Eduardo de Souza. "It's great to see the team come together to take care of our beautiful campus."
