Men’s Soccer Falls To USC Salkehatchie

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Soccer team moves to 1-1 after their second game of the 2021 season.

The men's soccer traveled to USC Salkehatchie this afternoon for a conference matchup.

The game was held even until the 30^th minute, when Salkehatchie found the back of the net. The Statesmen trailed 0-1 at the end of the first half.

As the second half began, the energy was even on both sides of the ball. With momentum high, Michael Afful struck one past the keeper in the 78^th minute to bring the score even, 1-1, and would stay that way through the final minutes of play.

The score remained even through the first overtime period. In the 105^th minute, Salkehatchie sealed the win.

Andrew Retmier had 3 shots and Michael Afful 2. Cristian Rodriguez was credited with 3 saves in the loss.
