Men’s Soccer Plays To Double Overtime Tie

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Soccer team moves to 2-2-1 overall after their fifth game of the 2021 season.

 

The men's soccer team hosted Louisburg College yesterday afternoon for a nonconference matchup.

 

The game was held even until Nolan Wyss received a pass from Matthew Lewis and found the back of the net. Shortly after, Louisburg struck to make it 1-1. The score remained 1-1 at the end of the first half.

 

In the 71st minute, Matthew Lewis took one himself to bring the Statesmen ahead 2-1. Michael Afful quickly added a tally just 3 minutes later. Louisburg fought back to bring the score even by the end of regulation, 3-3.

 

After 2 full overtime periods, the score remained tied.

 

Cristian Rodriguez was credited with 15 saves on the day.

 

Richard Bland men's soccer next travels to USC Lancaster on Wednesday September 29th, for a conference matchup at 1pm.
