Statesmen Shut Down Salkehatchie

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Soccer team moves to 3-2 in conference play and 3-2-1 overall after their sixth game of the 2021 season.

 

The men's soccer team hosted USC Salkehatchie this afternoon for a conference matchup.

 

The game was held scoreless until the 46th minute when Michael Afful found the back of the net off a pass from Zorhan Isaac Boston. Less than 10 minutes later, Nolan Wyss teamed up with Moses Mora to put the Statesmen ahead 2-0. In the 77th minute, Moses Mora added a tally of his own which proved to be the final marker of the afternoon.

 

Cristian Rodriguez earned the shutout win in net, playing 82 of 90 minutes, while Zachary Degrauwe stepped between the pipes for his first time this season, in the final 8 minutes of play.

 

Richard Bland men's soccer next hosts Denmark Technical College, Monday October 4th, for a conference matchup at 3:00pm.
