SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Soccer team moves to 6-2-1 overall and 6-2 in conference play after their ninth game of the 2021 season.
The men's soccer team traveled to Spartanburg Methodist yesterday afternoon for a conference matchup.
Nelsar Castillo started the scoring early in the 2nd minute off a pass from Moses Mora to give the Statesmen the 1-0 lead for the next 22 minutes. In the 24th minute, Spartanburg found the back of the net to make it a level 1-1 game. 5 minutes later, Spartanburg tallied again, to take the 2-1 lead. Rounding out the first half scoring, Moses Mora made his mark in the 39th minute from Nelsar Castillo to make it 2-2.
In the 61st minute, Moses Mora tallied again, to bring the Statesmen ahead 3-2, and it would end up being the game winning goal on the day.
Cristian Rodriguez was credited with 7 saves in the win.
