Men’s Soccer Outlasts Eagles

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 4-0 overall, 3-0 in conference play after picking up a 3-2 win over Wake Technical Community College Tuesday afternoon.

 

Edgar Jose Reboredo got things started for the Statesmen finding the back of the net in the 27th minute, off a pass from Eric Calderon. Richard Bland took a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. In the 65th minute, Calderon teamed up with Neville Assoti to push another past the Eagle keeper, increasing the lead, 2-0. Wake Technical Community College answered in the 79th minute to cut the lead in half, 2-1 Statesmen. In the 85th minute, Assoti found Nicholas Ihnat and Ihnat pushed one between the pipes increasing the lead 3-1. Although the Eagles tallied less than a minute later, Richard Bland would prevail, 3-2 in regulation.

 

Thomas Seymour earned the start in net. He was credited with three saves and allowed one goal against. Adrian Rios replaced Seymour at the 82nd minute mark and was credited with two saves and one goal against.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next travels to USC Union on Friday, September 8th. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
