Men’s Soccer Bests Bantams

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 5-0 overall, 4-0 in conference play after picking up a 2-1 win over USC Union Friday afternoon.

 

Richard Bland got on the board early taking a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute of the game with a Lorenzo Camacho tally off a ball from Nate Newberry. The Statesmen would carry the 1-0 lead into halftime. Eight minutes into the second half, the Bantams pushed one past Statesmen keeper, Thomas Seymour to level the game 1-1. In the final five minutes of regulation, Nicholas Ihnat and Neville Assoti teamed up for an Ihnat game-winning goal.

 

Thomas Seymour earned the start in net. He was credited with four saves and allowed one goal against in regulation play. The Statesmen were credited with seven corner kicks and 13 shots on the day.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next hosts Spartanburg Methodist College on Tuesday, September 12th at 1pm.
