Men’s Soccer Draws with Lancers

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 6-1-1 overall, 5-1-1 in conference play after hosting the Lancers of USC Lancaster Tuesday afternoon.

The Lancers took an early 1-0 lead in the 24^th minute of the game and would maintain the lead through the first half. The Lancers tallied again in the 47^th minute to open the second half. The score remained 2-0 in favor of USC Lancaster until the 83^rd minute when Eric Calderon found the back of the net for the Statesmen. Three minutes later, Calderon teamed up with Connor Nickerson for a Nickerson tally to even the score, 2-2. At the final whistle, the Statesmen earned the 2-2 draw with the Lancers.

Thomas Seymour earned the start between the pipes for the Statesmen. He was credited with eight saves in full regulation. Richard Bland was credited with 10 shots and 10 corner kicks on the day.

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next travels to Denmark Technical College on Saturday, September 23^rd. The conference contest is set for 11am.
