Assoti Tallies Twice on Sophomore Day

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 9-3-3 overall, 8-2-2 in conference play after hosting Southwest Virginia Community College Friday afternoon.

 

Prior to the match, Head Coach, Damien Westfield honored the program's nine sophomores for their hard work and dedication to the men's soccer program. This included Ruben Santos, Edgar Jose Reboredo Martins, Samir Spaulding, Neville Assoti, Seraphim Davis, Nicholas Ihnat, Milton A Hernandez Sierra, Nicolas Monje, and Mason Dycus.

 

Richard Bland got on the board early, in the 5th minute by Neville Assoti on a ball from Edgar Jose Reboredo Martins. The score would remain 1-0 in Richard Bland's favor through the half. In the 60th minute, Assoti would find the back of the net again, this time on a ball from Bruno Oliveira Barros. The Statesmen would come out victorious, 2-0 over Southwest Virginia at the final whistle.

 

Thomas Seymour earned the start in net and was credited with one save in 45 minutes of play. Mason Dycus took over for Richard Bland in the second half.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next travels to USC Sumter on Tuesday, October 17th for a 1pm match.
