Men’s Soccer Wins Big on the Road

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 10-3-3 overall, 9-2-2 in conference play after traveling to USC Sumter Tuesday afternoon for their second conference meeting with the Fire Ants.

 

Eric Calderon (unassisted) put the Statesmen on the board in the 29th minute. Richard Bland found the back of the net again in the 75th minute when Nicholas Ihnat found Daniel Nunfio and Nunfio pushed one past the keeper. The Statesmen would strike again five minutes later from a Nate Newberry ball for a Neville Assoti tally. Richard Bland allowed one goal against but would hold on for the 3-1 conference win on the road.

 

Thomas Seymour earned the start in net for the Statesmen. He was credited with five saves in 90 minutes of play.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next travels to USC Salkehatchie on Friday, October 20th for the final regular season match. Kickoff is set for 12pm.
