Men’s Soccer Closes Regular Season with Shutout Win

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 11-3-3 overall, 10-2-2 in conference play after traveling to USC Salkehatchie this afternoon for the final regular season game.

 

Bruno Oliveira Barros put the Statesmen on the board in the 22nd minute. Richard Bland found the back of the net again in the 38th minute when Eric Calderon pushed one past the keeper. The Statesmen carried a 2-0 lead heading into the second half.  In the 70th minute, Nicholas Ihnat found Seraphim Davis for a Davis tally to push the lead to three. Ihnat would close out the scoring on the day in the 74th minute, assisted by Nate Newberry.

 

Thomas Seymour earned the start in net for the Statesmen. He was credited with two saves in 75 minutes of play. Mason Dycus came in for the final 15 minutes of regulation.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team awaits their opponent for the Region 10 Semifinal match, which will take place next week.
