Martins Signs with Lee University
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Edgar Jose Reboredo Martins, a sophomore on the Richard Bland College men's soccer team has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at NCAA Division II Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
The Seixal, Portugal native contributed to much success for the 11th year program. He has been a key member to the men's soccer team being named Region 10 Champions and advancing to Districts in the last two seasons.
In his first season, Martins was named team captain and started all 18 games. As a center back, Edgar scored five goals, three assists, and was credited with 10 shots on goal. He was also named 1st Team All-Region 10.
In his second season, Martins was once again a team captain, while starting in 19 games for the Statesmen. He scored five goals and earned two assists on the season, totaling 12 points. He was also named 1st Team All-Region 10.
Lee University is a Division II member of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) primarily competing in the Gulf South Conference (GSC).
