Marlin Invitational Results

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland men and women indoor track and field teams traveled to Virginia Beach, VA Friday afternoon for the Marlin Invitational, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Colby Kynard: 60 Meters 5^th place – 7.06, 200 Meters 4^th place – 22.15

Peter Barnett: 400 Meters 5^th place – 51.51

Jerry Hamilton: 800 Meters 5^th place – 2:06.86

Deonte Harris: 60 Hurdles 2^nd place – 8.78

Jeremy Jones: Long Jump 3^rd place – 20'4.25"

Patrick Taylor: Shot Put 4^th place – 36'4", Weight Throw 5^th place – 44'5.25"

Women:

Akira Hamilton: 200 Meters 2^nd place – 26.38, Long Jump 1^st place – 18'4.5"

Jayla Werts: 200 Meters 3^rd place – 26.51

Janiya Washington: 200 Meters 11^th place – 28.92, 400 Meters 7^th place – 1:08.45

Katelyn Griffin: Long Jump 4^th place – 16'2.5"

Ciarra Moore: Triple Jump 4^th place – 36'3"

Erin Smith: Triple Jump 5^th place – 34'11.25", Shot Put 8^th place – 24'8.25"

Haniyyah  Johnson: Shot Put 2^nd place – 39'0.5"

With her 1^st place finish in the long jump, Akira Hamilton has qualified for the long jump event at NJCAA Indoor Nationals. She has already qualified in the 60 meters. She is joined by Haniyyah Johnson in the long jump.

Next up for the Richard Bland track and field team is the South Carolina Invitational 2024 on Saturday, February 3^rd.
