Nicolski, Godfrey Named 2nd Team All-Region

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College softball team finished the season with a record of 14-23 in conference play, and 14-25 overall after falling to Bryant & Stratton College (VA) in the first round of the Region 10 Tournament. Friday afternoon, the All-Region teams were announced.

 

Freshmen Jenna Nicolski and Shelby Godfrey were named 2nd Team All-Region as a designated player, and infielder.

 

Nicolski, a Suffolk, Virginia native played in 35 games and made 100 plate appearances. Nicolski had 33 hits for a .330 batting average, .350 on base percentage, and a.640 slugging percentage. Nicolski also scored 18 times herself. Within her 33 hits, she had four doubles and nine home runs. She was credited with 31 rbi and walked three times. In the field she had 50 total catches, 16 putouts, 23 assists, and one double play for a .780 fielding percentage.

 

Godfrey, a Prince George, Virginia native played in all 37 games and made 127 plate appearances. Godfrey had 51 hits, including 15 doubles, three triples, and six home runs. Godfrey led the Statesmen in rbi with 47, and was walked 14 times. Godfrey compiled a .402 batting average, .462 on base percentage, and .709 slugging percentage. She was also credited with five stolen bases. In the field, she had 90 total catches, 43 putouts, 35 assists, and one double play for a .867 fielding percentage.
