WOMEN’S GOLF WELCOMES NEW SIGNEE - ANNA COLE

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College of William & Mary women's golf has added their second signing for the 2015-2016 season in Anna Carole Cole on Thursday afternoon.

Cole is currently a senior at Halifax County High School, in Halifax County, Va. She was the most valuable player during her junior varsity season and was a Virginia High School League (VHSL) State qualifier. Cole will attend Richard Bland College in the fall of 2015.

RBC Statesmen and future teammate of Cole, April Lessard (Matoaca) made the trip to support Cole during her signing. Cole was also accompanied by her parents and grandmother.

"It's exciting that I finally made my choice to come to Richard Bland and I'm extremely excited to play alongside April and be a part of the golf program here," said Cole.

"We are excited to have two quality women golfers in April Lessard and now Anna Cole, added head coach Shawn Holt. "Anna is going to bring some experience to our program, she's a great student and golfer and I look forward to having her as part our program."

The Statesmen will begin preseason in August and will partner with the Country Club of Petersburg for all home events and practices. The entire golf schedule will be released once it becomes available.
