SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Women's Soccer team moves to 4-6 overall after a non-conference matchup with Louisburg College this afternoon.
The game was held even until the 12th minute of play when Louisburg College found the back of the net, to put the Hurricanes ahead 1-0. The score would stay the same through the remainder of the first half. In the 69th minute, Jennifer Argueta added a tally off a punt from goalkeeper Tiffany Hargett. The score would remain 1-1 through regulation.
After the first overtime period, the Statesmen and Hurricanes stood even, 1-1. In the 103rd minute, Gabriella Sylstra scored the game winning goal off a pass from Jennifer Argueta.
Tiffany Hargett was credited with 11 saves in the win.
Richard Bland women's soccer next hosts USC Sumter, Sunday October 24th, at 11am for the final game of the season, before playoffs begin next week.
