Women’s Soccer Shows Improvement Against Hurricanes

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team moves to 0-3 overall and in conference play after falling to the Hurricanes of Louisburg College Wednesday afternoon, 0-5.

 

After facing Louisburg on the road just three days ago, the Statesmen showed improvement Wednesday afternoon when hosting the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes took the lead in the 12th minute, and would tally again right before the first half came to a close to hold a 2-0 lead. Louisburg added three more tallies in the second half to take home a 5-0 lead over the Statesmen.

 

Rachel Fields was credited with 14 saves in regulation. Gabriella Finnerty had three shots, one on goal, while Alicia Powers and Elisabet Bonilla Viera had one shot each.

 

The Richard Bland women's soccer team next hosts CCBC Essex in a non conference contest on Sunday, September 17th. Kickoff is set for 2pm.
