Women’s Soccer Hosts Knights in Non-Conference Contest

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team moves to 0-4 overall, 0-3 in conference play after dropping a non-conference matchup to the Knights of CCBC Essex 0-7, Sunday afternoon.

The score remained even through 21 minutes of play when the Knights put one on the board to take a 1-0 lead. The Knights would tally two more times in the first half, and four times in the second half to take home a 7-0 win over Richard Bland.

Rachel Fields was credited with 16 saves of the 23 shots faced in regulation. Angelina Finnerty had five shots, four on goal, and Gabriella Finnerty one shot on frame for the Statesmen offense. Fields is currently ranked #4 in the NJCAA in total saves with 62 through four games.

The Richard Bland women's soccer team next travels to Cape Fear Community College on Wednesday, September 20^th. Kickoff is set for 3pm.
