Finnerty Finds Back of Net in PINK OUT Match

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team moves to 0-8-1 overall, 0-5 in conference play after hosting Wake Technical Community College Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Eagles tallied five times in the first half, getting on the board in the 10th minute and not looking back in 6-1 win over Richard Bland. In the 60th minute, Angelina Finnerty sailed a ball from the corner into the back of the net for the Statesmen.

 

Rachel Fields made 14 saves on the day for Richard Bland. Angelina Finnerty had five shots with two on goal, and Celissa Samora-Nixon and Gabriella Finnerty one shot on goal each.

 

Prior to the game, Richard Bland showed support for breast cancer awareness by wearing PINK OUT shirts, and will continue to do so for the remainder of October.

 

The Richard Bland women's soccer team next hosts Montgomery College (MD) on Saturday, October 7th in a 1pm non-conference contest.
