HOLMES QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS AT KENT TAYLOR INVITATIONAL

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Richard Bland track and field team's concluded the Kent Taylor Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 21, inside the Eddie Smith field house on a high-note.

 

Thomas Dale product, Tia Holmes qualified for nationals after she finished with a personal-best in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.84. She also finished eleventh in the 200-meter dash (28.42).

 

Lee-Davis product, Dallas Tennessee ran for tenth best in the 200-meter dash after a completion time of 27.93. She placed eighth in the long jump height of 4.92m, while Holmes finished behind at 4.58m.

 

On the men's side, All-American Joshua Washington (Woodbridge, VA) continued his winning ways as he placed first in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.88 and finished runner-up in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.88.

 

Fredericksburg native, Marcus Finnie had a fourth-place standing in the long jump with a cleared height of (6.83m). He placed tenth in the 60-meter dash after a clocking time of 7.20.

 

Patrick Henry product, Terelle Robinson placed twelfth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.86.

 

Select members will compete at the George Mason Last Chance event on Sunday, Mar.1 at 10 a.m. in Fairfax, Va.
