Women’s Track & Field Schedule Release

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's track and field team has released their schedule for the upcoming season. The Statesmen will begin competition on December 4th at the JDL Early Bird Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Richard Bland will compete at four other events prior to NJCAA Nationals in Topeka, Kansas. The full schedule is as follows:

 

December 4, 2022 – JDL Early Bird, Winston-Salem, North Carolina

January 8, 2023 – VCU Rams Indoor Invitational, Richmond, Virginia

January 20, 2023 – Marlin Invitational, Virginia Beach, Virginia

February 4, 2023 – 2023 Liberty Open, Lynchburg, Virginia

February 17, 2023 – JDL DMR Invitational, Winston-Salem, Virginia OR Garden State Collegiate Open, New York City, New York

March 3 & 4, 2023 – NJCAA Nationals, Topeka, Kansas

 

The women's track and field program returns this winter/spring under head coach, Rashad Cannon. Cannon's prior experience at RBC will have an immediate impact on the program that looks to rekindle previous success.

 

"I am excited and looking forward to building a strong program," says Cannon. "We have a great group to compete in various track and field meets. This will create a dynamic and competitive environment as we rebuild this program."

 

The women's track and field team has a group of seven individuals who will take part in the track and field season in the spring. Five freshmen and two transfer sophomores will represent the Statesmen for the 2022-23 season. For the 2023-24 school year, Richard Bland College Athletics will offer both men's and women's cross country and track & field teams, under Head Coach, Rashad Cannon.
