Johnson Reaches Podium at NJCAA Indoor National Championship

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland men and women indoor track and field teams traveled to Gainesville, Florida for the two-day NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship event, held at the Alachua Sports and Events Center. Haniyyah Johnson made a name for herself, earning a spot on the podium in two National Championship events for her efforts, and was named a NJCAA Track & Field All-American.

Women:

Haniyyah Johnson: 60 Meters 2nd place, Long Jump 4th place – 5.91m, Triple Jump 10th place – 11.10m

 

 

Men:

4x400 Relay 19th place – 3:25.14: Colby Kynard, Deonte Harris, Peter Barnett, Zion Richardson-Keys

 

Congratulations to all of our Statesmen athletes who competed at the NJCAA National Championship event. The Richard Bland College Track and Field teams will now get set for the outdoor season, with their first meet, the Raleigh Relays, taking place on March 28th at NC State.
