Richard Bland Falls To Cape Fear (N.C.) 3-0, Bryant & Stratton 3-1

BOLIVIA, N.C. -- Richard Bland College dropped a pair of women's volleyball matches played at Brunswick Community College on Saturday in Bolivia, North Carolina.  The Statesmen (1-12) fell to Cape Fear (N.C.) Community College, 3-0, with set scores of 11-25, 12-25 and 12-25, before falling to Bryant & Stratton College, 3-1, including set scores of 11-25, 17-25, 25-21 and 12-25.  Richard Bland will enjoy a break in the schedule before playing at Regent University on Tuesday, October 10, at 6:30 p.m. in Virginia Beach.

Freshman Alexis Lyons/Prince George led Richard Bland against Bryant & Stratton (5-12) with 10 assists, eight digs, four kills and four service aces, while sophomore McKenzi Thorne/Chester contributed four kills, three digs and one block against the Bobcats.  No statistics were available from the match against the unbeaten Sea Devils (13-0), who received votes in this week's NJCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Poll.

Richard Bland defeated Regent in the first meeting between the two schools this season on September 21 at Statesman Hall, winning 3-0 with set scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-19. 

The Statesmen will host Pitt (N.C.) Community College on Saturday, Oct. 14, 12 p.m. at Statesman Hall.
