Women’s Volleyball Takes Down Fighting Owls in Home Opener

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The #6 Richard Bland College women's volleyball team moves to 4-1 overall after sweeping Harford Community College at home Wednesday evening. The set scores were as follows; 25-10, 25-18, and 25-21.
The Richard Bland attack was led by Dryden Rancourt with 12 kills and Sarah Heath with 10 kills. Leilani Goggin and Gabriella Figueroa added five each and Mikayla Mitchell four in the win. Alexis Scipione chipped in with 30 assists, four digs, and three service aces for the Statesmen. Heath was also credited with 13 digs and one block. Jordan Schlageter had eight digs and Rancourt seven for the Statesmen.
The Richard Bland women's volleyball team next travels to Perrysburg, Ohio for the Owens Community College Tournament. On Friday, September 1st the Statesmen face Vincennes University at 10am and Muskegon Community College at 1:30pm. On Saturday, September 2nd the Statesmen are set to face #4 Parkland College at 9am and tournament hosts Owens, at 12:30pm.
