Women’s Volleyball Closes Out Week with Two Wins

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The #5 Richard Bland College women's volleyball team moves to 24-3 overall, 9-0 in conference play after traveling to Fayetteville Tech Friday evening, and hosting Wake Technical Community College Saturday morning.

 

In match one, Richard Bland swept the Trojans of Fayetteville Tech Community College 3-0, with set scores of; 28-26, 25-15, and 25-18. Sarah Heath and Leilani Goggin led the attack with 15 and 13 kills. Goggin also added 12 digs and one block, while Heath had eight digs, one service ace, and one block. Alexis Scipione was credited with 34 assists and six digs, while Jadyn Brown chipped in with nine digs, four kills, two service aces, and one block.

 

In match two, Richard Bland swept the Eagles of Wake Technical Community College 3-0, with set scores of; 25-6, 25-22, and 25-12. Heath led the attack once again with 16 kills and added 10 digs and two service aces in the win. Goggin added 11 digs, six kills, and five service aces. Mikayla Mitchell chipped in with five kills and Jadyn Brown had four kills, 11 digs, and t wo service aces for the Statesmen.

 

The Richard Bland women's volleyball team next travels to Cape Fear Community College on Thursday, October 12th for a 6pm conference match.
