Heath Signs with Morehead State University
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Sarah Heath, a two-time NJCAA All-American on the Richard Bland College women's volleyball team and academic standout, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at NCAA Division I Morehead State University, beginning fall 2024.
The Colonial Heights, Virginia native contributed to much success for the seventh year, indoor program. In her rookie campaign, Heath led her team to a 34-3 overall record, 12-0 in conference play. The team defeated Cape Fear Community College in the Region 10 Championship match to earn an automatic bid in the 2022 NJCAA National Tournament, and went on to be named National Champions. Heath was named 1st Team All-Region 10 and a NJCAA Division II 2nd Team All-American. Heath appeared in 119 total sets and was credited with 341 kills, 41 service aces, 210 digs, two assists, and two blocks.
In her second indoor season, she helped lead her team to a 33-8 overall record, and 10-1 in conference play. The team defeated Cape Fear Community College in the Region 10 Championship match to earn an automatic bid in the 2023 NJCAA National Tournament. Heath was named 1st Team All-Region 10, Region 10 All-Tournament Team, Region 10 Player of the Year, AVCA 1st Team All-American, NJCAA All-Tournament Team, and NJCAA 1st Team All-American. She finished the season ranked 1st in scoring points in the NJCAA, 3rd in the Nation in kills per set, 3rd in the Nation for points per set, and 10th in the Nation in aces. Heath appeared in 138 total sets with 638 kills, 388 digs, 87 service aces, 12 assists, and 10 blocks.
During her beach play, she has been on the #1 pairing for the Statesmen during both seasons. Heath was a member of the 2023 team that participated in the Inaugural NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship Tournament, helping her team to a 5th place finish nationally. She was also listed on the NJCAA Beach Volleyball Watch List for the 2024 season.
Heath is set compete in both indoor and beach volleyball for the blue and gold Eagles.
