No. 6 RBC HOOPS THUMP TIDEWATER

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The No. 6 Richard Bland men's basketball team defeated the Storm of Tidewater Community College, 99-59 on Saturday afternoon in a Region X conference match-up.

The Statesmen improve to 18-2 on the year and 10-1 in Region X while the Storm drop to 4-15 overall and 3-10 against Region X opponents. 

 Freshman Reginald Moses (Henrico, VA) led the Statesmen with 25 points following sophomore Evan Bates (Midlothian, VA) who added 24 points while sophomore Tavon Mealy (Richmond, VA) chipped in 10 points.

The Statesmen got off to a great start with a 10-2 run at the beginning of the game. 

At halftime the Statesmen led 43-20.

RBC maintained the momentum the entire game as the second half was a micmic of the first. 

The Storm were unable to recover from the first half deficit and the Statesmen dominated the game to win by 40 points.

The Statesmen return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 28th when they travel to Patrick Henry Community College. Tip-off is schedule for 7 p.m.
